The San Diego CITD developed the apprenticeship program through a grant awarded by the California Community College’s California Apprenticeship Initiative – New and Innovative Grant Program. The CITD collaborated with local employers in logistics and international trade to develop the program standards, which were approved by the State of California’s Division of Industrial Relations’ Department of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS). Recruitment of apprentices and employers for the program is ongoing. For additional information about SCLAP, visit https://apprenticeship.sandiegocitd.org.
